  • Artist Pod | A group of artists who believe that art can be used for political mobilization and social change. It is an open group and anyone (member or not) can recommend projects and enlist member artists in the group to participate if they wish. There have been signs, zines, an art show, and chalkwork so far.

  • Teacher Pod | Local teachers meeting in solidarity

  • Tech Pod | Tech experts helping us use technology in ways that build community while helping us avoid intrusion and surveillance

  • United We Stand | Standing together for community, justice, and equity

  • Pod Point People | A networking space for pod point people to share needs and information

  • MORE! We have other pods that stay below the radar. If there's a space where you want to engage, let us know, and we'll get you plugged in.

More Community Building

North Coast Action supports and promotes these efforts run by volunteers. Email info@northcoastaction.com to learn more.

  • Community Conversations | Community is an act of resistance. In these monthly conversations, we come together to crystallize our discontent with the way things are, sharing ideas and ways we can act on them to create the world we want to live in. First Wednesdays, 5:30 - 6:30 pm, Astoria Library Media Room.

  • Knitters for Justice | Local knitters meet on the first Saturday of each month, 10: 30 am - 12:30 pm, at the Astoria Library Media room.

  • Left Coast Grief Collective | Gather with others to share in our collective grief, make sense of it, and still find joy and meaning under this regime. Local providers create ongoing spaces where we can all show up as we are and find opportunities to work through our grief together in different ways.

  • Outdoor Club | In the digital age we live in, more and more communication is done through the internet and technology. and that's pretty isolating. We believe that real community is built through face to face interactions, and getting outside to touch grass.

  • Wellness Salons | Free or by donation wellness offerings from local providers
